Mama Mary's Pizza

In short, we received a salad with Gross black lettuce after hearing the kitchen staff joke about hiding it below the spinach. I ordered four pizzas, a salad, and mozzarella sticks. I arrived a few minutes early as a customer was leaving, so the kitchen staff didn't notice I had entered. They proceeded to talk about the salad they were making and said, "just hide it under the spinach and no one will see it". When I politely confronted them the person in charge said that romaine never looks very pretty and so they put the spinach on top to improve the presentation and assured me everything was ok with the salad. As soon as I or anyone else started eating the salad we noticed that ALL of the romaine (at the bottom of the salad) was black (see photos). I can understand that as a small business you can't always use the 100% freshest ingredients, but to joke about and then serve someone entirely rotten lettuce is unacceptable. On top of this they confused which order was mine, so I waited an extra 15 minutes for my pizzas, only for the staff to realize the pizza was actually done on time and that my once hot pizzas were sitting on the shelf for 15 minutes and now no longer hot. We will not be back.

Ordered carry out and got their Boardwalk pizza, which is their XL New York style with relatively thin crust, and got double pepperoni. Pepperoni is small diameter and a little thicker than normal, and cooked until curled with some crunch. Good amount of sauce and quite flavorful, as was the crust. I really liked it and was hard to stop after a couple of the very large slices. Will definitely be back to try the other styles and ingredients.

Honest and humble people, great tasting local pizza. I have placed an order through call and went to pick up expecting to pay the price displayed online, but when I went in for pickup they said they have applied a coupon and gave me discount, even though they could have just charged for the full amount. That’s honesty rare to find. Pizza was good too, in the journey of seeing local pizzerias, found this, and this surely deserves its rating and reviews. Cheese was delicious and different from other pizzerias. Garden pizza was delicious! One of the best that I have tried in the recent times.

Ordered small pizza and cheesy bread and cannolis and they said 15 minutes I went back over there and they said that they forgot about my order and it was coming out within a couple minutes. When I arrived. I waited a total of 45 minutes for my food and when after I received my food and went home living only five minutes from the pizza place. My pizza was cold and my cheesy bread was cold.

I first tried Mama Mary’s 5 years ago, and it was awful. But after seeing people rave about it - I thought, let me try it again; maybe the first time was a fluke. Nope. I didn’t think it was possible - but it was even worse this time. Here’s a picture of what I ordered vs. what I got. For the 1st time ever, a “large” left us unsatisfied … I’m guessing it’s because it was basically some thin bread with pizza sauce & no toppings. Bummer, was really hoping for something better from a local place so close to home. In this economy, we all deserve to get what we pay for, so I just wanted to give others the heads up.
